This 7 year-old Golf GTI came to JM Valeting in need of some much needed TLC. With several re-sprays and featuring the usual suspects of swirl marks and holograms, it lacked the lustre and impact its owner was looking for, and so we began our 2-3 stage enhancement detail.

After many hours of hard work, not just on the interior but on the interior too, we were delighted with the results, and more importantly the owner was too!

The images below show the drastic results that can be achieved by car detailing. Even with 7 year’s of use and abuse, a car can be brought back to something like its original condition. The images of the bonnet show the before and after state of the bodywork.

This BMW 3 Series was a classic example of a car that appeared to be in excellent condition to the naked eye, but upon closer inspection had suffered repeated attacks by the swirl monster! Not to mention several attempts at machine polishing which had resulted in buffer trails and unsightly holograms all around the car. Following our 2-3 stage enhancement and protection detail the results were very pleasing. And what delightful customers to work for too! It makes all the work even more rewarding….

The images below show the drastic results that can be achieved by car detailing. The 50/50 comparison picture of the roof shows the before and after state of the bodywork. The right hand side shows the state of the roof before any detailing, while the left hand side shows the mid-way point of the 2-3 stage enhancement process.

The 2nd and 3rd image show the rear door panel before and during the detailing process, while the selection of other images show the final results, interior and exterior

WHAT IS DETAILING?

Detailing is the name given to the treatment, protection and correction of your car’s bodywork and interior. It is a higher level of service than valeting and is most commonly used with reference to machine polishing (mopping), which can remove defects such as swirl marks, marring, minor scratches and dull, lifeless paintwork. The range of detailing services varies greatly, depending on the type of correction needed and/or the level of protection one wishes to apply to the bodywork. Therefore, at JM Valeting we have a variety of options to suit all budgets, from a simple spruce up of the bodywork, to paint correction and new car protection.

The following example is of an Overfinch Range Rover which came to JM Valeting with heavily degraded bodywork, full of swirls and light scratches. Following our Make-Over Detail/Protection Detail service the car was given a new lease of life and returned, albeit to only a modest degree, to a deeper, glossy state. But nevertheless, even with much work still to be done, the results were still impressive and much longer lasting than a standard hand polish and wax.
