  • Mobile Valeting and Detailing Services, Covid-19

    We hope you are well during this difficult time. In the next few days we hope to be back up and running with at least some mobile valeting services, having been on lockdown for the last couple of months.

    We aim to carry out interior and exterior valets while maintaining social distancing, to keep any risks at an absolute minimum where possible. Thankfully, due to the nature of our work, we can work outdoors and keep a safe distance as part of our everyday practices.

    We’re looking forward to getting back up and running, but most of all stay safe and take care

  • Valeting and Machine Polish

    I had the pleasure to provide a beautiful Aston Martin with an overall machine polish. The service was what I would describe as a general, all-round spruce up, removing some of the more prominent haze and scratches without going into a more complete detailing process.

  • Benefits of a deep clean and steam cleaning

    So I came across this Vauxhall Zafira, which had recently been purchased by the owner and was in an extreme state of neglect! It was 10 years old and it genuinely appeared that the previous owner had never given it any form of interior clean. Wisely, the new owner decided a deep clean was in order and so I set to work…..

    Starting with a thorough vacuum I removed the loose dirt, then I set about attacking the seats (all 7 of them) with my trusty Karcher extraction machine. Each seat was covered in stains and general muck which had accumulated over the years. As the machine drew out the dirt I could tell by the brown gunk being lifted that indeed there were some horrible things lurking within the seats. Not good for any human to be exposed to, let alone young children who love to touch and feel everything.

    Slowly but surely all of the major stains were drawn out of the seats, enabling me to enter the third stage of the deep clean by using my steam cleaner.

    Steam cleaning is fantastic for fabric seats as not only does it neutralise bad odours but it also kills bacteria too. As I worked my way around each seat the upholstery came up looking fresh, rejuvenated and healthy again.

    I’ve included the pictures below for you to see for yourself. My ‘before’ shots didn’t come out very well so I’ll try to remember for next time.

  • Car wash scare stories

    Just a few words of caution from a couple of my customers this week:

    While carrying out a full valet, polish and wax I was approached by a gentleman who asked me to take a look at his BMW sports car. He directed me towards 2 huge, horizontal scratches on his bonnet. He remarked how he had dropped his car off at a local hand car wash and watched the various staff quickly wash over his car. On returning home he noticed 2 scratches exactly in line with how the staff had been washing his car. Furious, he returned to the garage and demanded an explanation. Sadly for him, he didn’t get very far. Even though this was the only car wash he used and there was no other explanation for the damage.

    Unfortunately now he has no choice but to get some detailed scratch repairs done to his bodywork, which will not be a quick, easy or cheap job.

    My second customer this week had a similar scare story. He also dropped his car off to a hand car wash garage and upon his return a huge flake of paint had disappeared from above his door, drastically affecting the appearance of the car. He too owned a nice BMW 3 series.

    The moral of these 2 stories is: Be careful who you take your car to! Car bodywork is durable, but it is not INDESTRUCTIBLE. You need to treat it well and to look after it with care. If you don’t, it will not only affect the appearance of your car, it will also reduce its resale value or hurt you in the pocket to get fixed.

    Remember: Use quality products, trusted car washes, trusted valeters or take car doing it yourself!
